The Department of Intensive Care is located on the first floor of the Parkside East Block of Christchurch Hospital.  The Department is located in close proximity to Operating Theatres, Emergency Department and Radiology.

The Intensive Care Department consists of two pods, North and South pod with a total of 24 beds.  The two pods are separated from each other by a corridor, but located on the same floor, (Intensive Care South pod to the left when you step out of the lifts, & Intneisve Care North pod to the right when you step out of the lift).  The Medical and nursing staff rotate seamlessly through both areas.
