About Physiotherapy at Burwood Hospital

The Physiotherapy Service provides assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning services to the rehabilitation teams at Burwood Hospital. 

Registered Physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants participate in the following services/teams:

  • Burwood Spinal Unit

  • Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit

  • Orthopaedic Surgical Unit

  • Pain Management Service

  • Outpatients Department

  • ​Burwood Birthing Unit

Four Year University of Otago Physiotherapy students work at Burwood Hospital on supervised clinical placements.

The Hydrotherapy Pool is accessible on referral and by application for approved community groups.​​
