kaikoura-health-opening.jpgLocated on the old Kaikoura hospital site, the new state-of-the-art Health Centre accommodates 21 beds, which includes 14 long stay rooms as well as six medical/acute beds and a delivery/postnatal maternity suite plus a resuscitation room and observation bed and radiology.

It also accommodates the multi-purpose General Practice rooms, physiotherapy, community dental, optometry and other visiting health specialists.

Kaikoura Health Te Hā o Te Ora enables the district health board to expand services so that people may have closer to home care and do not need to travel to Christchurch.

These services include palliative care, post-surgery support, pre-operation, nurse-led fracture clinics, dementia patient support, health promotion activities and wound care clinics.
Video conferencing technology also enables people to have face to face consultations with their specialist health provider without having to leave Kaikoura.
