  • Over 6,000 tonnes of structural steel has been erected with other 100,00 bolts used
  • 333 of 370 precast panels have been installed
  • More than 1,600 panels for the facade and podium glazing have been installed.
  • In the West Tower, Level 3 has its vinyl painting and wall finishes in place.

This timelapse taken from the top of Christchurch Women's Hospital shows the progress of the acute services building from around the time of the site preparation works in October 2014 to January 2018.

See the Christchurch Hospital page for more details.

Christchurch Outpatients

Construction is progressing and detailed plans are underway for the migraiton of services into the new Christchurch Outpatients building later this year.

The time lapse video below shows the progress of the build from the time of the site prep work in June 2016 to January 2018.

Walking in the Hospital Corner area - please be safe out there!

With the Christchurch Outpatients, Health Research Education Facility, Fletchers Earthquake repairs and the Medcar site under construction, the area around Hospital Corner is VERY busy, and increasingly with heavy trucks.

Please take care and follow the appropriate safety and road signs.

There is a container walkway running up Antigua St to the Oxford Tce crossing for pedestrians and a dedicated cycle lane for cyclists travelling up Antigua St to the Boatshed bridge.

See the Christchurch Outpatients page for more details.

Please bear with us!

Over the next few years there will be changes and disruption on CDHB sites that we will try to keep this to a minimum. It will be worth it however, because by 2019 Cantabrians will be enjoying state-of-the-art amenities in our new Acute Services bui lding at Christchurch Hospital and the Christchurch Outpatients facility.

If you have any queries email itsallhappening@cdhb.health.nz and one of the project team will get back to you.
