Find out about the 2019 Canterbury DHB Board Election
The Board and Committees section of this website provides access to information about the Canterbury DHB Board and its Statutory Advisory Committees, the Community & Public Health and Disability Support Advisory Committee (CPH&DSAC) and Hospital Advisory Committee (HAC).
In accordance with the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, public notices detailing the date, time and venue of all meetings of the Board and its Statutory Committees are published in local newspapers. Notice is also given on this website.
Meetings of the Canterbury District Health Board are held in the Board Room, Level 1, 32 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.
The Board has up to 11 members. Seven are elected and the remaining four are appointed by the Minister of Health, by notice in the Gazette. The Board serves for a term of three years.
DHB Board members are accountable to the Minister of Health (through the Chairperson of the Board), for the performance of the DHB.
Note: District Health Board elections are currently underway, a new list of members will be published when the election has concluded.
Members of the public are welcome to attend any meeting, subject only to the right of the Board to exclude the public from certain items of business, such as those that deal with matters of privacy or commercial sensitivity.
