People going from MIQ to be detained in mental health facilities

Partial transfer from MBIE: Questions 2,3 and 4: RE People re-entering NZ and going into quarantine. From quarantine, some will be labelled 'psychiatrically disturbed' and they will go from quarantine in mental health facilities.

Terminations/Abortions during 2020

Re response CDHB 10519 16/2/2021.  You advised that there were 1,658 terminations performed in 2020 at your boards facilities. I have recently been advised that the Ministry of Health informed the President of Voice for Life that the number of abortions performed at your facilities in 2020 totalled 1,613 there is a difference of 45 in the totals. I would be grateful if you could advise me promptly, which is the correct total?

Covid-19 vaccinations: Maori and Pacific islanders in the Canterbury DHB area who are 70 or over are classified as being in Priority Group 2 for vaccination. I seriously doubt that specific ethnic groups in Canterbury currently are more vulnerable than others. Why are not individuals of other races 70 and over also in Group 2?

CDHB Annual Plans: Would you please provide me with copies of those up to and including 2007/2008, either electronically or by hard copy mailed to my home address.

  • The CDHB's Annual Plan for 2019/20 (the Annual Plan for 2020/21 is not yet publicly available) states on page 1 that the Annual Plan "has been prepared to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act, Crown Entities Act, Public Finance Act, and the expectations of the Minister of Health."
  • Please provide specific details of the sections and/or subsections of the three Acts which require DHBs to prepare Annual Plans.
  • Please provide specific details which give the Minister of Health the right to state what his or her expectations are of the CDHB - what is the legislative basis for such expectations?
