The following visitor restrictions are in place for all Canterbury DHB hospitals and health facilities:

  1. All visitors need to scan in using the COVID-19 Tracer App or sign in on arrival and provide their contact details
  2. If you’re using the COVID-19 Tracer App, please ensure Bluetooth tracing is turned on
  3. All visitors must wear a surgical/medical mask. Fabric face coverings are no longer acceptable
  4. All visitors are expected to practice safe physical distancing. You should remain two metres away from people you don’t know
  5. Everyone, including visitors should practise good hand hygiene
  6. Visitors who are unwell should not be entering our facilities.

Patients and visitors should also read the additional more detailed visiting guidelines for each specific hospital.

Covid-19 vaccinations: Maori and Pacific islanders in the Canterbury DHB area who are 70 or over are classified as being in Priority Group 2 for vaccination. I seriously doubt that specific ethnic groups in Canterbury currently are more vulnerable than others. Why are not individuals of other races 70 and over also in Group 2?

CDHB Annual Plans: Would you please provide me with copies of those up to and including 2007/2008, either electronically or by hard copy mailed to my home address.

  • The CDHB's Annual Plan for 2019/20 (the Annual Plan for 2020/21 is not yet publicly available) states on page 1 that the Annual Plan "has been prepared to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act, Crown Entities Act, Public Finance Act, and the expectations of the Minister of Health."
  • Please provide specific details of the sections and/or subsections of the three Acts which require DHBs to prepare Annual Plans.
