In the Maternity quality and safety annual report 17-18 it says on page 50:
- As a DHB we have recently deliberated that the Standard Primiparous woman is not reflective of the total wider birthing population or indeed very few of the first time women that we see these days due to the narrow criteria and therefore small numbers who reflect this group in the Clinical Indicators. This has the potential to ‘disguise’ areas of clinical outcome or intervention that could be investigated for improvement. In order to analyse these clinical outcomes further we have also reviewed the total birthing population against these clinical indicators, and findings from this work are also reflected in our MQSP priorities and action plan for 2018/19. Can you send me this review?
