In this edition of the CEO Update…

CEO David Meates talks about the new helipad on top of the new Christchurch Hospital Hagley building, thanking key people who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the helipad a reality, as well as the training that is set to occur over the coming weeks. He also gives details on the new Maternity Assessment Unit (MAU) as an alternative care pathway for pregnant women who are concerned about their pregnancy, but not in labour, and also congratulates those who were successful in the recent DHB elections.

This issue also pays tribute to the late Dr Tony Young – a radiologist who pioneered many procedures that are now commonplace; celebrates the 50-year career of a Practice Leader at Brackenridge – a charitable organisation that provides support to children, young people and adults with disabilities and autism in Canterbury; details a major patient care capacity management programme that's ready to launch; and much more.
