Christchurch Women’s Hospital’s Neonatal Unit (NICU) opened New Zealand’s first Human Pasteurised Donor Milk Bank in 2014. The Human Milk Bank is next to the Neonatal Unit on the 4th Floor, Christchurch Women’s Hospital.
The Canterbury Neonatal Service provides special and intensive care for all babies born in the wider Canterbury region. This region extends to Timaru in the South, Greymouth in the West and Kaikoura in the North (approximately 20000 square kilometres).
Rangiora community maternity unit is located within the Rangiora Health Hub and is located approximately 40 minutes’ drive from Christchurch and provides primary birthing care and postnatal maternity services.
St. George’s maternity centre is located within the St. George’s Hospital and is located approximately 12 minutes’ drive from Christchurch Women’s Hospital and provides primary birthing care and postnatal maternity services.
