The Infection Prevention and Control Service is a patient focused service and a key resource providing expert guidance and support to prevent the occurrence and spread of infection.
The Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) Operational Group consists of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Infection Prevention & Control, and the Clinical Director of Infection Prevention and Control.
The following CDHB Divisions and services are represented:
The IP&C Operational Group (IP&C Group) has the prime responsibility for managing, coordinating and documenting infection prevention and control activities across the divisions, liaising with the laboratory and implementing/auditing the policies approved by the IP&C CDHB Hospitals Committee. Each CNS IP&C is responsible for the day to day work in their respective health care facilities, report to their divisional clinical areas and provide a shared service across the CDHB.
