CEO David Meates provides an update on how the Canterbury Health System is responding to the national alert levels and working to protect our patients and our staff. With Alert Level 4 coming into effect from midnight tomorrow night (Wednesday 25 March), all non-urgent surgery and most outpatient appointments have been postponed from today until further notice, and we are significantly reducing the number of visitors coming in to hospitals. He also explains the roles of the various levels of emergency response across the Canterbury Health System.
This issue also looks at the Paediatric Diabetes Service's new option for web-based appointments; shares the kindness of colleagues in helping a fellow team member celebrate her graduation; promotes the work of Te Ha Waitaha Stop Smoking practitioners on the Chatham Islands; and much more.
