Overdosing on opioids

When people take high doses of opioids, it can lead to an overdose, with the slowing or stopping of breathing and sometimes death. Opioid (oxycodone, morphine, codeine, fentanyl, tramadol, and heroin) overdoses account for around 50% of all drug related deaths in New Zealand each year.

You can find helpful information about opioids, and advice about opioid overdoses on the HIGH ALERT website
