Chief Executive David Meates reflects on last week’s blessing ceremony at the Akaroa Health Centre – Te Hauora o Rākaihautū, and thanks everyone who has been involved in getting this new facility up and running. He also congratulates the Mana Ake team for making the finals of the Spirit of Service Awards, acknowledging that those working on the project have shown a spirit of service from day one, coming together with a common goal to help make things better for kids in Canterbury.

This issue also covers a visit by two Mongolian clinicians to Canterbury Health Laboratories to advance preimplantation genetics in Mongolia, congratulates three registered nurses for winning a scholarship in recognition of their work during the 15 March terror attacks, thanks a pharmacy technician for gifting the Pharmacy Department with a framed Fijian masi – a type of tapa cloth, and much more.
