The Mediterranean diet is a healthy eating plan. It's based on traditional foods eaten in countries around the Mediterranean Sea. Usually, it is rich in vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, whole grains, fish, and healthy fats. It includes small amounts of red meat and low‑fat milk products.
